Your choices. Your information.
How Britain Saves is run by TIC Investments Ltd (company 15242358), trading as The Investors Centre. We decide how your information is used, which makes us its controller. Updated 24 September 2026.
Your quiz answers
Your answers are worked out in your browser and kept in its session storage (key hbs-individual-v3) so you can go back and change an answer, and the same storage remembers if you close the small counter at the foot of the page (key hbs-pulse-hidden). That storage exists only to run the check you are taking. It clears when you close the tab, and we treat anything older than an hour as expired.
When you ask for your results by email, your answer bands (never exact balances), your ranking summary and the time are stored against your email address in our database. Your email address also goes into our customer records at HighLevel, which sends the email. We do this to give you the results you asked for. Your answers are never sent to the platforms we compare or to any advertiser.
Your choice at the gate
You choose between a button and a link. “Just send my results” sends your results and nothing else. “Send me my results”, which says underneath that it includes The Bull’s Eye, also gives us your consent to send The Bull’s Eye, our free weekly email with investing education and occasional offers from partner platforms, and up to two reminders about our free workshop. The reminders come from HighLevel and stop as soon as you register. Each one has a link that stops them straight away.
What you are sent also depends on your answers. Nobody who tells us they are behind on payments gets partner offers or workshop reminders. We also send no workshop reminders when your results suggest dealing with borrowing or building savings first.
If you chose The Bull’s Eye, we also use your answers to decide which of our emails you get. We record a short label or two against your record — for example that you have no stocks & shares ISA, that you have not started investing, that you are building up savings, or your age band — and send you the emails that match. We do not put your answer bands themselves on that record, and we never use “behind on payments” or “money is a stretch” to sell you anything: those answers only ever hold something back. You can tell us to stop at any time using the link in any email, or by replying, and if you would rather we did not sort you this way you can say so and we will remove the labels. If you chose “Just send my results” we do none of this.
The Bull’s Eye
If you choose it, your email address, the campaign tags from the link that brought you here and a summary of your result go to Beehiiv, our newsletter provider. The summary is your ranking, your wealth band and the three snapshot lines (your savings band, a one-line description of your borrowing and your ISA position), never exact figures. Every issue has an unsubscribe link. Newsletter processing also follows The Investors Centre privacy policy and Beehiiv’s privacy information.
What our emails tell us
Our emails are sent through HighLevel, and The Bull’s Eye through Beehiiv. Both record when an email is opened, using a tiny image inside it, and which links are clicked, because links pass through their servers on the way. That includes your results email. We use this to see which emails are useful and to spot delivery problems. When you choose The Bull’s Eye, the note under the button asks for your agreement to this, and unsubscribing withdraws it. If you would rather we did not know, set your email app not to load images automatically.
Visit statistics
Our pages tell our own server when a page loads, when you move through the check, and when you click a partner offer or play a video. Each visit gets a random id that travels in the page address, not in a cookie or your browser’s storage, along with the campaign tags in the link that brought you here (such as utm_source) and the page you came from. It also records whether you have answered the cookie banner and whether you accepted advertising cookies, so we can tell how much of our traffic the pixel below can see. We do this in our legitimate interest in knowing which pages and adverts work. It is never shared with advertisers, and you can object by emailing us.
Videos and hosting
The video on the home page streams from Wistia, which sees your IP address and browser details, as any site you load does, and sets no cookies. The site is hosted by Vercel, which processes the same connection details to deliver pages and keep them secure.
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
When you first arrive, a banner asks which cookies you accept. It is the same banner The Investors Centre uses on its main site, run by CookieYes, which keeps your choice in a cookie on this site along with a record of it. A choice made on theinvestorscentre.co.uk does not carry over, so this site asks separately.
If you accept advertising cookies, we use Meta’s pixel to see which of our Facebook and Instagram adverts bring people here. It tells Meta which pages you visit and whether you asked for your results by email, with your IP address, your browser details and a cookie identifier. It never receives your quiz answers or your results. If you reject advertising cookies, or make no choice, the pixel does not load. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of our pages, or change your cookie settings now. Meta’s own use of the data is covered by Meta’s privacy policy.
How long we keep it, and where
- Answer bands: cleared from our database after 90 days.
- Your results record (email address, ranking summary and time): deleted after 13 months.
- Visit statistics: deleted after 13 months.
- Your HighLevel contact record: kept until you ask us to delete it.
- The Bull’s Eye: until you unsubscribe.
Our database is hosted by Neon in the United States, and HighLevel, Beehiiv, Wistia and Vercel are US companies (as is Meta, if you accept advertising cookies), so your information is transferred outside the UK. Those transfers are protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
Downloads and external links
A snapshot download saves a text file on your device. It contains your answers, so keep it private. Partner offers and courses open other websites, which have their own privacy practices. We do not add your answers to their links.
Your rights and contact
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time: use the stop link in any workshop reminder, the unsubscribe link in any issue of The Bull’s Eye, or email info@theinvestorscentre.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us at the same address. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
